Board Certification of young PRM Doctors by Examination

We are glad to announce that the European Examination, giving access to the PRM Board Certification of young PRM Doctors, is planned this year on 29th November 2019. Every country, which is a member or associated member of the UEMS PRM Section can participate in the organization of the European Board Examination.

WHO CAN TAKE THE EXAM?

The applicants must be physicians who are qualified PRM specialists or PRM trainees (from year 3 of postgraduate course) having their PRM training in UEMS member countries and the associated countries participating in the PRM Section (a trainee who passes the Board Examination, will receive the Board Certificate after he/she is officially certified in his/her country).

HOW IS THE EXAM ORGANIZED?

The exam will be held simultaneously in the member or associated member countries of the UEMS PRM Section at locations assigned by National Managers.

To pass the exam, a minimum of 60 out of 100 Multiple choice questions must be correctly answered. Questions address the different topics included in the Core curriculum of the postgraduate PRM education, concurrently with Training Requirements for the Specialty of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine according to the European Standards of Postgraduate Medical Specialist Training.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS RESULTING FROM THE CERTIFICATION?

By the Board Certification, a PRM specialist achieves the status of UEMS PRM Board Fellow and can thus benefit from:

1. Reduced subscription fee to PRM journals (e.g. the Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine)
2. Free-of-charge or reduced registration fee for participation in Courses and Congresses in the field of PRM (included the European Congresses in PRM and the Board supported European PRM Schools).
3. Educational material can be downloaded for free from the Board website and from the European Board Educational platform 
4. International visibility: the list of Board Certified PRM specialists is published on the Board website
